  If on arrival see you a few people waiting to order, turn around and find somewhere else. If the store is empty, still consider how patient you are willing to be - this is a place that seems to get gazumped by the presence of customers in ways you could never imagine.

  Food itself is on a par with other KFCs - in the case of this evening's meal, decently cooked but entirely unseasoned chips, accompanied by excessively oily wicked wings.

  Try to avoid Tuesday nights, not a bargain if you wait with the engine running for half an hour. Go on a Friday night and service times are usually better. Pretty good food most of the time. Chicken sitting in the hotbox for so long can't be too good. Overall, usually slightly above average.

  When I approached the counter, the staff member behind the counter turned their back to me (worth noting at this point that there were also a couple of staff sitting about eating), and spent several minutes pottering about with the chicken in the bain-marie. When they eventually turned back around to take my order, they did so with the air of someone utterly put out by the fact that they were working on a Friday night. This was reflected in their haste in preparing the order, which took another four minutes to put together a fairly simple meal.
